بريطانيا توجه دعوة رسمية لـ ولي العهد السعودي لزيارة لندن

أفادت صحيفة “فايننشال تايمز”، الجمعة، بأن الحكومة البريطانية وجهت دعوة لولي العهد السعودي محمد بن سلمان لزيارة لندن، في مسعى منها “لتعميق العلاقات وجذب الاستثمار من الخليج”.
ولفتت الصحيفة إلى أن الزيارة مرتقبة في أكتوبر أو نوفمبر المقبلين، لكن جدولها الزمني لم يحدد حتى الآن، ناقلة عن أحد الأشخاص الذين تم اطلاعهم على الرحلة، أنه “ستكون أحدث علامة على ترحيب الدول الغربية بعودة الأمير محمد إلى السياق بعد 5 سنوات من مقتل الصحفي جمال خاشقجي”.
وأكد مسؤول بريطاني أن حكومة المملكة المتحدة قدمت دعوة إلى ولي العهد، لكنه قال إن الخدمات اللوجستية الدقيقة لم يتم الاتفاق عليها بعد.
وردا على سؤال حول ما الذي سيحدد توقيت الزيارة، قال مسؤول حكومي بريطاني: “الأمر متروك لهم، نظرا لأننا نحتاجهم أكثر مما يحتاجون إلينا”.
ووفق الصحيفة، فإن المملكة المتحدة “سعت على مدى السنوات القليلة الماضية إلى تعزيز العلاقات مع المملكة العربية السعودية على الرغم من المخاوف بشأن سجل حقوق الإنسان في السعودية، بينما تتطلع بريطانيا إلى الخليج للاستثمار في أعقاب خروج بريطانيا من الاتحاد الأوروبي”.
