واعتبر بيان حركة المجتمع الديمقراطي إن ما تعرضت له عفرين وأهلها في غضون أربعة أعوام من الاحتلال التركي ومرتزقته إلى اليوم تجاوز كل مفاهيم الاحتلال ضاربة كل الأعراف والمواثيق الدولية بعرض الحائط، بل زادت من جرائمها وانتهاكاتها لحقوق الإنسان والقيم الأخلاقية واستمرارها بعمليات الخطف والاغتصاب وجرائم القتل بشكل يومي وفرض سياسة الاستسلام والعمالة على إرادة شعبنا في عفرين.
عفرين سلعة تجارية لمرتزقة الاحتلال
وأشار البيان إلي أن دولة الاحتلال التركي ومرتزقتها قد حولت منطقة عفرين إلى سلعة تجارية نتيجة نهب وسرقة ممتلكاتهم وقيمهم الأثرية ومواردها الطبيعية وبيعها في الأسواق العالمية هذا من جهة.
ومن جهة ثانية والأخطر هو توزيع الفصائل الإرهابية على بقع جغرافية في المنطقة وسياسات تصفية الحسابات وفرض النفوذ والفدية على الكرد والقيام بعمليات السطو وحجز الأموال وإرهاب المنطقة والعمل على سياسة التغيير الديمغرافي القائم في عفرين في بناء مستوطنات واستيطان عوائل الإرهابيين فيها.
ووصف البيان ما تمارسه تركيا فى عفرين بأنه مشروعاً شوفينياً وغير قانوني و خطيراً كبداية لمشروعهم ومخططاتهم المعروفة باسم الميثاق المللي الشوفيني.

وبحسب البيان، فإن أهالي وسكان عفرين الأصليون يعيشون في ظل كارثة منظمة إذ يواجهون كارثة الإبادات الجماعية وأفعالاً إجرامية من التعذيب الجسدي والنفسي نتيجة الاعتقالات العشوائية التعسفية وسياسة التطهير العرقي الممنهج بهدف إرهاب الناس وإجبارهم على إنكار ثقافتهم أو الموت وأمام أنظار المجتمع الدولي.
كما لفت البيان إلي أنه حتى نازحي مخيمات الشهباء لم يسلموا من هذه السياسات القذرة إذ يواجهون كارثة إنسانية حقيقية وهم محاطون بين مطرقتي القصف التركي اليومي وسياسات الحصار والمجاعة المفروضة من قبل سلطة دمشق مستغلين الصمت الدولي. وهذا ما يقلل من شأن المسؤولية القانونية والحقوقية في بنية نظام المجتمع الدولي.
