تحدثت تقارير صحفية عن تزايد شعبية الرئيس الأمريكي السابق دونالد ترامب وارتفاع نسبة داعميه وذلك قبل أشهر قليلة من انتخابات الرئاسة الأمريكية المقررة نوفمبر المقبل.
وبحسب وسائل إعلام، أفاد استطلاع للرأي بأن غالبية المواطنين الأميركيين يدعمون الرئيس السابق دونالد ترامب قبل انتخابات نوفمبر، ويعتقدون أن فترة توليه منصب رئيس الدولة كانت أكثر نجاحا من فترة الرئيس الأميركي الحالي جو بايدن.
ووفق الاستطلاع الذي أجرته خدمة “إس آر إس” بتكليف من “سي إن إن” CNN، انخفض عدد الأميركيين الذين يدعمون بايدن من 45% إلى 43%، وحصل ترامب على دعم 49% من المستطلعين.
وأظهرت نتائج الاستطلاع أيضا أن 55% من المشاركين صنفوا فترة ترامب كرئيس من 2017 إلى 2021 على أنها ناجحة، و44% على أنها فاشلة، و61% يعتبرون فترة رئاسة بايدن غير ناجحة.
لقاء سري
وفي شأن متصل، كشفت مصادر مطلعة عن لقاء سري بين الرئيس السابق ترامب وحاكم فلوريدا الجمهوري رون ديسانتيس على انفراد صباح أمس الأحد في ميامي، وفقا لصحيفة “واشنطن بوست” الأميركية.
وكسر اللقاء غير المتوقع حالة من الجمود استمرت لسنوات بين المرشح الجمهوري المفترض ومنافسه الرئيسي في الانتخابات التمهيدية.
وقالت المصادر المطلعة على الأمر إن الحلفاء توسطوا في الاجتماع على أمل حدوث انفراج محتمل بين الرجلين، ويأمل مستشارو ترامب أن يستغل ديسانتيس شبكة المانحين للمساعدة في جمع مبالغ كبيرة من المال للانتخابات العامة. والتقى الثنائي لعدة ساعات، ووافق ديسانتيس على مساعدة ترامب، وكان اللقاء ودياً، بحسب شخص مطلع.
ويتخلف ترامب والجماعات المتحالفة معه عن الرئيس بايدن وحلفائه في جمع الأموال. وقام ديسانتيس ببناء شبكة واسعة من الرعاة الأثرياء الذين ستكون مساعدتهم ذات قيمة في مساعدة ترامب في محاولة سد الفجوة، كما يحظى بشعبية لدى بعض الناخبين الجمهوريين الذين أنهكهم ترامب.
